Baby Washing in Cochabamba, Bolivia

Baby Washing Ministry

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”

(Matthew 19:14)

Imagine being a single mother living on the streets with your children. Imagine trying to keep your children safe or find shelter from the cold or rain. Imagine the despair when a full day of begging barely brings enough coins for bread. Imagine the despair of not being able to give your children a warm bath.

Those who are poor often times have no hope; they are broken down in spirit because of their poverty. They are vulnerable to those who would take advantage of them. This is especially true of the children. What can you do to help?

Each Saturday we gather at Plaza Principal around 4:30 to wash the infants of homeless mothers. If the children are older, we wash their hair.

After each child is washed they are given a new article of clothing and can have their hair brushed and braided as. If we have enough volunteers we will offer to paint the nails of the girls and play some games with the boys. We also love to share a story from the Bible with anyone who wants to hear of Christ’s love.

In addition to bathing, we provide something simple to eat for the children and mothers.

If you would like to help with this ministry, join us at 4:30 on Saturday. We can also use donations of the following:

· New or used clothing for ages infant to 10.

· Hair things for girls (barrettes, headbands, bows, etc..)

· Food item to pass out (approx. 50 pieces)

· Fingernail polish

If you would like to contribute, please bring the items on Saturday and give to a member of our team so that we can make sure the items are distributed evenly.
